Connected Buildings Challenge
Advancing the connectivity of buildings through innovative solutions and competition

Connected home devices—such as smart appliances and security systems—are projected to grow their market share significantly to reach $490 billion in 2019. However, many "smart gadgets" lack fundamental connections with mainstream consumer benefits, such as energy savings or improved life quality.
Truly connected smart buildings should not only benefit their users, they should also benefit the community as a whole by helping strengthen the grid and build a more resilient and reliable utility network.
Our project aims to accelerate the growth of the smart, connected buildings market by investigating the consumer needs and market drivers, creating innovative real solutions, testing and demonstrating technologies and success, and assisting in launching new business with leveraged private funds.
